DALLAS, TEXAS – Servitas celebrates the grand opening of Dogwood Hall, a first-time student housing facility located on Mid America Boulevard in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The 180-bed community will serve the students of National Park College (NPC) and officially opened its doors today after a virtual ribbon cutting.
Given current COVID-19 guidelines for gathering sizes and social distancing, National Park College moved to a virtual ribbon cutting which was broadcasted live via Zoom. For the first time in NPC’s rich 47-year history, the College will welcome 180 students to live on-campus. This makes NPC one of the first in the state of Arkansas to house students at a community college. Servitas is proud to serve as the lead developer and manager of the 52-unit project that incorporates NPC’s vision to bring a live-learn environment to campus.
David Braden, Vice President of Asset Management at Servitas said, “Reaching a significant milestone like this can only be achieved through incredible teamwork and partnership. The leadership of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Hogan, Steve Trusty, Dr. Thomas, Brad Hopper, and everyone that we have worked with at NPC embodies the mission that “Learning is the focus; student success is the goal.”
Dogwood Hall broke ground in July 2019 and over the course of thirteen months Servitas has pulled together and overcome many obstacles, including navigating a pandemic in order to deliver a successful project for the College. The three-story wood frame building consists of 180-beds and 52 apartment style units. The units are fully furnished and include a kitchenette, vinyl wood-plank flooring, utilities, and high-speed internet access. Community amenities available for students include study lounges on each floor, package lockers, on-site laundry room (free for residents), resident-only parking, and electronic building access with safety camera surveillance.
Servitas is honored to deliver this first-time student housing project for the Hot Springs community and excited to serve the NPC students at Dogwood Hall as they move into their new home this week. Key team members involved in delivering this project includes Servitas as developer and manager, BGO Architect, Design Collective, Annex, and Stevens Financing.
