COVID-19 UPDATE

To Our Servitas Community

With concern growing around Coronavirus (COVID-19), and many universities shifting to temporary online instruction, you may have questions about what Servitas is doing to keep our communities healthy and safe. These are unprecedented times, and we are all facing challenges and circumstances that we have never faced before. On a daily basis, we pledge to put the health and wellbeing of our residents, team members, and community first. We are grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to support each other more than ever before. It’s important to us that you know the preventative measures we are taking as an organization, and how you can help.

Steps We Are Taking

Following CDC guidelines and taking into account social distancing, all programming and social events planned by the staff at the community will be suspended during this time.  The community amenities are closed to encourage social distancing. All common areas are routinely cleaned throughout the day. The office(s) are still assisting residents, but we are doing as much by phone and email as possible.  Should appointments be needed, individual arrangements are made. Routine service requests are being taken but not performed at this time. Emergency service requests are done through coordinated appointments.

What Policy Changes Are in Effect?

Shelter In Place / Stay At Home Orders

Several of our communities including corporate offices are in locations currently under “Shelter In Place” Or “Stay At Home” orders from state or local governments—directing everyone within the region to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for a period of time in order to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus. We are closely monitoring these orders as they are announced and implemented and abiding by them. Our communities continue to maintain necessary staffing levels to keep communities clean and safe for our residents.  Our construction sites remain open as these continue to be considered an essential service.

Cancelled All Non-Essential Travel

We’ve made the decision to cancel all non-essential travel both for team member safety, and the safety of our communities. Group meetings will be held remotely wherever possible in accordance with CDC recommendations.

Virtual Leasing and Office Hours

In an effort to increase social distancing, all Servitas communities have adopted a “virtual leasing office” system to continue to serve our communities through telephone calls, video tours, chat, e-mail, direct message and text. Adjusted business hours are also allowing our team members to address cleaning, package delivery and other resident needs.

Resident Rent

We understand this is a difficult time and that financial conditions have changed for many.  We encourage our residents that may be going through financial hardship to call their individual Community Management team.

Closure of High Touch Amenities

Beginning March 17, following government guidance, Servitas communities have temporarily closed certain high touch-point and high-density amenity spaces, such as fitness centers (including gyms, yoga rooms), business centers/computer labs (some may be available by appointment only to assist on-line learning), swimming pools, and coffee bars. Green spaces and laundry rooms will remain open and available for resident use – provided that social distancing is practiced.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

Our community facilities staff will wear the appropriate PPE when completing priority resident service requests including neoprene or latex gloves and additional recommended PPE as deemed necessary.

Resident Events

Following CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, we have paused all in-person resident events at this time, and have incorporated a virtual approach when possible.

Stay Informed

Our commitment to the health and well-being of our residents and staff is our number one priority. Please do your part and stay informed, knowledge is the best way to stay safe and stay calm.
