University of Evansville, Underclass Housing

Evansville, IN

This new, state of the art residence hall sits in the very heart of the University of Evansville and is intended to serve the underclass cohorts with the latest in pod-style living. The building was designed with a focus on creating a community that will passively encourage resident interpersonal growth while they actively pursue their intellectual growth in the classroom. The building replaced old housing that was behind the times and beyond the useful life of the structure.

The new hall will house 293 students in a mix of double and single occupancy formats. The building contains on site laundry facilities, a community kitchen, gaming, and activity lounges as well as multiple community study lounges. The project was financed by the University, and they will own and operate the facility. Servitas provides the University full development services from concept design through permitting and construction to substantial completion and occupancy.
