Servitas Management Group Hires Brian Sellen as its new Senior Vice President

Brain Sellen Senior Vice President
Servitas and Servitas Management Group (SMG) are pleased to welcome Brian Sellen to the management services team. As Senior Vice President of Management Services, Brian is responsible for overseeing the successful operations of all managed properties. This includes client relationships, financial performance, marketing, leasing, facilities management, residence life, risk management, and accounting.

Since joining Servitas Management Group (SMG) in September, Brian has taken on his new role with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. His impact has been felt both at the corporate level and at each of SMG’s properties.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Brian at the helm of our management division,” says Michael Short, EVP and COO of Servitas. “Brian’s experience and leadership have already proven to be a tremendous asset to Servitas Management Group and – more importantly – to the residents and institutional clients we serve.”

Brian brings over a decade of experience in managing both on-campus P3 projects and off-campus purpose-built student housing, including management and/or consulting engagements in three countries. He began his career as an area coordinator for Greek Housing while attending graduate school at the University of Houston, and has significant experience hands-on at the property level in addition to his time as a corporate leader. This depth of knowledge and breadth of expertise makes Brian an excellent fit for the SMG leadership team.

Additionally, since Servitas primarily develops on-campus communities with a key focus on community building and academic amenities, Brian will play a key input role in the design phase of all Servitas developments – regardless of whether SMG will play a role in management of the facilities once completed.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston. In his prior role, Brian oversaw a portfolio of 7,000 beds in Canada and the United States for American Campus Communities.
